What the results tell us
Nearly two in five forecasts were within ±5% of their review prices, just over half were within ±10%, and approximately seven in ten were within ±15%.
Close examples include Mama’s Creations (MAMA), with a target of $15.92 versus a review price of $15.97, and FuelCell Energy (FCEL), at $15.04 versus $15.12.
Larger deviations also matter. G-III Apparel Group (GIII) traded below its $35.78 target at $29.22, while Datadog (DDOG) traded above its $170.23 target at $208.22. These outcomes highlight cases for closer examination of the original assumptions and subsequent developments.
The correlation describes the relationship between forecast and observed price levels across the sample; it does not measure forecast accuracy.
